Get Started with Real-Time Dashboards in Microsoft Fabric
This lab transforms a sample bicycle stream into a real-time view of availability and location. Participants connect an Eventhouse table to a dashboard, use shared KQL logic across visual tiles, and add a neighborhood filter to explore the data interactively.
What the lab covers
- Ingesting bicycle sample events into an Eventhouse KQL table.
- Building a stacked bar view of bicycle availability and a map of locations.
- Reusing a base query across dashboard tiles.
- Filtering visuals with a multi-select neighborhood parameter.
- Adding a dashboard page, setting automatic refresh and testing its sharing link.
Learning outcome
Participants can describe how Eventstream, Eventhouse, KQL and dashboard visuals combine into an operational monitoring surface. They also consider how query reuse, filters and refresh cadence affect the experience of a live report.
Workshop connection
This overview supports Module 09 — Real-Time Intelligence & KQL and provides a visual consumption pattern for event data. It is a standalone sample exercise, not a required continuation of the other Module 09 labs.
Access note
A Fabric paid or trial capacity is required. Sample data streams continuously and dashboard refresh is configured separately from the rate at which source events arrive. Full instructions and participant materials are provided during the workshop; no PDF or sample assets are published here.
