Implement Deployment Pipelines in Microsoft Fabric
This lab introduces a controlled path from Development to Test and Production for supported Fabric items. Participants map separate training workspaces to pipeline stages, compare changes, promote a Lakehouse item and validate the outcome in target workspaces.
What the lab covers
- Creating separate Development, Test and Production workspaces in a training environment.
- Configuring a three-stage deployment pipeline and assigning each workspace to its intended stage.
- Adding a representative Lakehouse item to the Development stage.
- Reading stage differences before promotion and validating the item after promotion to Test and Production.
- Discussing item pairing, target checks and environment-specific data provisioning.
Learning outcome
Participants can explain why environment separation matters, interpret a difference indicator between stages and distinguish deployment of a supported item definition from the separate work required to provision or validate target data.
Workshop connection
This overview supports Module 10 — Administration & Governance. It turns release control into a concrete operating decision: what moves between environments, what must be tested independently and who is accountable for target readiness.
Access note
Use separate, disposable training workspaces only. Deployment pipelines promote supported Fabric item definitions and metadata; do not assume that Lakehouse table data or files are copied into a target environment. The complete participant guide, setup steps and cleanup instructions are delivered during the workshop and are not published here.
