Use Activator in Microsoft Fabric
This guided lab turns a package-delivery event sample into a focused cold-chain monitoring scenario. Participants define the business conditions that matter, scope a temperature rule to the intended shipment type and location, and configure an email action for a matching event.
What the lab covers
- Reviewing event objects and their properties in Activator.
- Building a rule for refrigerated medicine packages routed to Redmond.
- Applying a temperature threshold and matching property filters.
- Configuring an email action and monitoring the rule.
Learning outcome
Participants can explain how event properties, rule conditions and filters combine to reduce an operational alert to relevant cases. They also learn to treat alert history as evidence: sample data is random and a matching event or email is not guaranteed during the exercise.
Workshop connection
This overview supports Module 09 — Real-Time Intelligence & KQL and highlights the action layer that turns a real-time signal into an operational response.
Access note
The exercise requires Microsoft Fabric access, paid or trial capacity and an email address for the action recipient. Whether the threshold is reached depends on the sample events. Full instructions and working materials are provided in the workshop; the public overview does not expose the participant guide or event assets.
